We invite you to join a collaborative and entrepreneurial Oslo-based Finance department focused on growing our pan-European portfolio of real estate investments as we build toward our goal of one million homes. Currently, Fredensborg/Heimstaden energy is focused around our Scandinavian and European portfolios and, as a result, we operate as a cross-regional group. From your desk in Oslo, you will have plenty of collaboration opportunities with colleagues in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, and Czech Republic, among others. As a Finance Analyst you will be immediately assisting the team with the implementation of high priority departmental projects. You will work alongside senior members of our departmental team and will maintain key responsibilities to ensure your many project deliverables are timely and in-line with departmental and organizational goals. 

Immediate responsibilities will include:

  • assisting the creation of risk management-related tools, reporting, and coordination of incoming risk-focused data streams
  • integrated and revisioning of existing financial models into our strategic planning, risk surveillance, and risk-reporting processes
  • supporting financial consolidation of proposed investments into our existing portfolio that include an understanding of S&P’s Corporate Rating Criteria & related methodology alongside our internal rating model
  • management and preparation (ETL operations) of our financial, risk, and organizational data; and
  • creation of management, risk, and surveillance dashboards using business intelligence tools that include Power BI

In addition to current ongoing projects, you will be assigned to daily tasks, ad-hoc assignments, and upcoming projects as they emerge which could include, but are not limited to:

  • supporting investment and project research that may include deep global peer analysis, benchmarking, and fact-finding
  • maintenance of existing financial models and management reports/dashboards while ensuring data integrity
  • creation of financial models and analytical reports
  • communication with contacts in the real estate industry and presenting research results to relevant internal and external stakeholders; and
  • supporting departmental goals that includes policy, practice, and operational improvements

What we are looking for:

  • bachelor's or master’s in Finance/Economics/related studies from an accredited institution required
  • one to three years of work experience preferably in, but not limited to, real estate finance / real estate investment / real estate private equity
  • understanding of real estate fundamentals, industry trends, and investment concepts
  • familiarity and comfort with financial reporting and financial statement analysis
  • deep knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly advanced Excel and PowerPoint experience. Deep understanding of VBA and the ability to write modules independently a significant plus
  • experience with business intelligence tools and concepts including Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and PowerPivot a significant plus
  • fast learner mentality with a willingness to learn new tools and concepts, including (potentially) a programming language to support ongoing projects
  • accurate under time pressure with exceptional attention to and care for detail in all work
  • positive attitude and team spirit embracing collaboration
  • excellent interpersonal, communication, listening and organizational skills
  • confidence when working in a dynamic and fast-changing entrepreneurial department and office culture
  • fluency in written and spoken English required. Additional Scandinavian and European languages a significant plus, particularly from our portfolio countries
