DNO ASA, founded in 1971 and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, is Norway’s oldest oil and gas company with a long history of operations in the North Sea to the Middle East. In 2004, DNO was the first international company to enter the Kurdistan region of Iraq and today the Company has grown to become the region’s largest international oil producer. DNO re-entered the Norwegian Continental Shelf during 2017 and has in recent years been one of the most active exploration drillers with several material discoveries which are in the process of being matured towards development. The Company also holds stakes in licenses in the United Kingdom, Côte d'Ivoire, the Netherlands and Yemen.

DNO ASA is looking for an experienced finance professional to support the Group’s accounting and reporting team. In this role, you will help DNO fulfill its financial reporting requirements and, over some time, take ownership of the group’s consolidation process. You will work closely with finance teams across business units, providing guidance on technical accounting matters and supporting activities such as financial due diligence and M&A. The position reports to the Head of Finance and Accounting.

Main responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee group financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring quality and accuracy
  • Monthly consolidation process
  • Oversee and quality assure financial reporting from Business Units (BU)
  • Assist in technical accounting matters, including preparing memos for non-routine transactions
  • Assist with preparing quarterly analytical review of consolidated figures
  • Take responsibility for DNO ASA’s parent company accounts, including statutory financial reporting and tax return, and assist with financial statements and other statutory reporting requirements for Oslo-based subsidiaries
  • Serve as the point of contact with external auditors
  • Key contributor in maintenance and development of accounting and consolidation systems
  • Help maintain and strengthen the company’s internal controls over financial reporting
  • Support project related tasks such as business financial due diligence
  • Line manager responsibilities
  • Ad hoc projects and analysis


Desired qualifications

  • Master’s degree in audit and accounting or similar, preferably state-authorized public accountant
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience from auditing and/or similar role, preferably from an international organization and from working in a matrix organization
  • Strong knowledge and experience with IFRS and general accounting principles
  • Experience with technical consolidation is an advantage
  • Good understanding of general tax principles
  • Experience with about accounting and consolidation tools
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge about oil accounting and tax theory and practice is helpful, but not essential
  • Fluent in business English and Norwegian
