We are Looking for an Up and Coming Finance Director

The Promenaden Portfolio is a joint venture consisting of eleven high street retail assets and two department stores located in the heart of Oslo’s premier shopping district around Karl Johans Gate, the main shopping street in the historic city centre of Oslo. Luxury retailers, including Gucci and Hermès, are located on the adjacent street Nedre Slottsgate. The portfolio has a strong business plan that needs to be executed in the coming years across the portfolio. This is a great opportunity to work with a large London based Investment manager, being part of the Norwegian leadership team, which manages a world class portfolio of assets and deliver value and structure with the team.


We are hiring a new Finance Director to lead the finance function. The role will be a member of the portfolio leadership team and lead the finance function and stakeholder management for all financial matters for the portfolio. The finance function includes an inhouse team as well as external service providers. The portfolio has a large institutional stakeholder which requires timely and accurate information. The finance director will be able to support the recruitment of the team.

The role will not only cover managing the team and the stakeholders, but also utilising advisors on an as-needed basis, such as tax, accounting, legal etc.  The role will report to Senior Vice President, Finance at Meyer Bergman.

Main Responsibilities

  • meet any operational reporting needs of the JV
  • delivery of the quarterly and annual financial reporting (IFRS and NGAAP) as required under statutory, tax, asset management, and joint venture reporting in accordance with the relevant timetables. This includes but is not limited to:
  • monthly budget to actual analysis
  • quarterly Consolidated Investor Reporting under IFRS
  • drive the annual business planning process and deliver a full consolidated and property budget to the joint venture
  • oversight of all the operational elements within the portfolio to ensure they are being adhered to by the relevant individuals
  • follow up the budget and actual costs, and continually challenge the cost budget
  • management of the operational and consolidated cash flows and anticipate cash needs
  • manage and monitor the loan compliance
  • oversight of all financial aspects of the lease, supporting the contract management team and the tenant management team
  • understand the full capital expenditure scope of the projects and associated cash flows
  • manage the Norwegian compliance requirements

Qualifications

  • higher education within finance or accounting
  • 8-12 years from similar positions or auditing, experience within real estate is an advantage
  • experience from Big Four audit companies is preferred
  • IFRS knowledge and/or interest
  • good knowledge of IT systems and MS Excel
  • fluent in English, written and orally
  • ability to speak Norwegian is an advantage
