Group Financial Controller

MER Group is now looking for a Group Financial Controller to further strengthen the Group HQ Finance team. The role will ensure MER Group’s compliance with all regulatory requirements for financial reporting and take ownership of the Group’s consolidation process for both mandatory and internal management needs. You will join a scale-up growth company of dedicated and fun colleagues who strive to build a sustainable and smarter future – one charger at the time. The role will report to Head of Group Accounting and work close with the FP&A Team as well as line management in a decentralized organisation. 


Main responsibilities
 

  • responsible for eliminations and consolidation in financial reporting
  • participate in assessments of complex accounting matters
  • responsible for period close activities with finance manager and SSC
  • responsible for updated Accounting Manual on consolidation process and requirements
  • IFRS expertise incl. ensuring consistent application across units
  • implementation of new standards as applicable
  • actively contribute to the finance improvement program
  • maintain and develop reporting tools
  • assist in external audit reviews
  • projects and ad hoc


Qualifications
 

  • master’s degree in accounting or finance, preferably MRR or equivalent
  • strong academic background, solid analytical skills and a commercial mindset
  • minimum 5 years experience from similar role and/or audit, preferably Big4
  • experience with IFRS and reporting for a listed company is an advantage
  • experience with ERP or consolidation systems is an advantage
  • experienced user of MS Office or G Suite
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Further, you must have the ability to influence others and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Being able to work independently and in cooperation with others is essential. The right candidate is able to work across the different functions in an international business environment, demonstrate analytical skills as well as paying attention to details, and who takes actively part in the Finance Team and the enthusiastic working environment.
